A Pendle company which helps to tackle the effects of climate change is celebrating its move to larger premises in Nelson as it continues to grow.

Detectronic is a UK specialist in wastewater monitoring systems helping organisations to protect the environment by preventing flooding and reducing pollution.

It has recently moved to Lomeshaye Industrial Estate and received a £42,000 grant from Pendle Borough Council’s Business Resilience and Growth Project to help refurbish the new premises.

The project is one of seven within the £25m Nelson Town Deal, designed to promote sustainable growth within the area, transform the town, and provide new opportunities for local people.

Councillor Asjad Mahmood, Leader of Pendle Borough Council, said: “It is fantastic to see well-known local businesses coming forward for support.

“The grants are here to enable them to grow and prosper in Pendle and we are happy we have been able to support them through the Nelson Town Deal.

“So far we have helped 30 companies with grants totalling £1.7m!”

Neil Butler, Managing Director of Detectronic, said: “Our motto is small enough to care, big enough to deliver and our new premises represent a great step forward in the development and growth of Detectronic.

“We have had a great base here in Pendle for a number of years and with these new state-of-the-art facilities we will be able to provide our customers with a fantastic service well into the future, both domestically and internationally.

“We appreciate the help that the Government and the Council have given us to make that possible.”
